IndiGo staff threatened denied boarding and forced my cabin bag into hold on Bahrain-Mumbai flight 6E 1202

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the behaviour and handling of my baggage by one of your boarding attendants during my recent journey from Bahrain to Mumbai on 30 October 2026, Flight 6E 1202. As per my ticket, my baggage allowance included: 30 kg checked-in baggage. 7 kg cabin baggage. One separate laptop bag. I would like clarification regarding IndiGo's baggage policy, particularly concerning the allowance of a separate laptop bag in addition to the permitted 7 kg cabin baggage. During boarding, one of your attendants insisted on taking my cabin handbag and transferring it to the checked-in baggage compartment without obtaining my consent. When I questioned this, her response was effectively that if I did not hand over the bag, I might not be allowed to travel. I found this behaviour extremely uncomfortable, unprofessional and intimidating. As a passenger, I expect your staff to communicate airline policies respectfully and explain the reasons for any baggage-related instructions rather than making passengers feel threatened with denied boarding. I would appreciate clarification on the following: 1. Does IndiGo permit one 7 kg cabin bag along with one additional laptop bag weighing up to 3 kg? 2. Under what specific circumstances can boarding staff force a passenger to transfer cabin baggage to the checked-in compartment? 3. Why was my handbag taken without my consent, and why was I made to feel that I might not be allowed to board if I refused? 4. What action will IndiGo take to ensure that passengers are treated respectfully and professionally by ground and boarding staff? I request you to investigate this incident, review the relevant boarding staff's conduct, and provide me with a written explanation. I am not merely seeking clarification about baggage rules; I am raising a genuine concern about the way a paying passenger was treated by your staff. Flight: 6E 1202 Date: 30 October 2026 Route: Bahrain – Mumbai #indigo, #indigoairline #indigocustomercare #indigoinfo Indigo ( intergloble aviation)
