The Ray FAQs

▸What is The Ray billing software?

The Ray is a GST billing and invoicing app for Indian shops and small businesses. It handles GST bills, udhaar (credit) with WhatsApp reminders, stock, purchases and the reports your CA needs, such as GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B.

▸Can I try The Ray before paying?

Yes, in two ways. Open a ready-made demo shop for your type of business with one click, with no sign-up. When you are ready, start on the free plan, which runs for 1 year with a limited number of bills and no card needed.

▸Is The Ray GST compliant?

Yes. Each item carries its HSN code and GST rate. The app applies CGST + SGST for sales inside your state and IGST for sales to other states, and prepares GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and the purchase register.

▸Does the billing app work on a mobile phone and without internet?

Yes. The Ray is built phone-first and also works on a computer. It installs like an app, has an Android app, and offline billing lets you keep making bills when the internet is down.

▸Which businesses can use The Ray?

Kirana and grocery stores, supermarkets, hardware shops, pharmacies, restaurants and cafes, hotels, rental businesses, transport and material suppliers, repair shops, salons, jewellers, clinics, gyms, labs, and any general store or trader.

▸Is the app available in Hindi and Marathi?

Yes. The whole app works in English, Hindi and Marathi, and you can switch the language at any time.

▸Can I print bills on a thermal printer or send them on WhatsApp?

Yes. Bills print on 58 mm or 80 mm thermal printers or on A4 paper, and can also be sent on WhatsApp or saved as a PDF.

▸Do you also build websites and custom software?

Yes. Along with the billing app, The Ray builds websites, CRM and ERP software, AI chatbots, WhatsApp automation and SEO for businesses across India.

▸How do I file a complaint against The Ray?

First write to The Ray's customer support with your reference numbers and what you want resolved. If you don't get a satisfactory reply, raise a public complaint on Panchaayat: it gets a permanent page, an open comment thread and a way for The Ray to respond on the record.
