Amazon India refused to credit the ₹24,719.32 price difference it promised in writing, after the customer bought a ₹59,995 vacuum

Amazon Samir Kumar Shikha Maheshwari Amit Agarwal Amazon India: What is the value of a written commitment if it can simply be withdrawn after a customer relies on it? I honestly did not want to take this matter public. I've repeatedly tried resolving it directly with Amazon, followed up with customer support and escalation teams, allowed the requested timelines and waited for an appropriate response. Unfortunately, I still have no satisfactory resolution, leaving me with little choice but to bring this experience to public attention. Here's what happened. During Amazon's sale in August, I ordered a Narwal Freo X10 Pro robotic vacuum cleaner for ₹35,275.68. It wasn't delivered, and the order was cancelled and refunded. I contacted Amazon to understand why the order was cancelled and explained that reordering would now cost significantly more as the sale price was gone. That's when the customer support agent explained that the price difference could be credited if I reordered the exact same product and waited until the return window expired. This arrangement was also confirmed in writing. After further orders and delivery issues, I contacted Amazon again before completing my purchase. I received a call and written confirmation that I was eligible for the price difference. The product was finally delivered on 20 September for ₹59,995. I contacted Amazon again after placing the order to reconfirm the commitment. Another verbal assurance and written email confirmations on the same day explicitly stated that ₹24,719.32 would be credited to my Amazon Pay balance after the 10-day return window expired. I was specifically asked to wait until then to claim the credit. I followed every instruction. Once the return window expired, I contacted Amazon to claim the promised amount. I was transferred between Customer Support, Large Appliances and the Escalation Team. After several follow-ups, Amazon responded on 16 October, apologising for its associate's incorrect information and accepting responsibility for the miscommunication — but refusing to honour the written commitment. This is what I find unacceptable. I did not buy a ₹59,995 product expecting a discretionary discount. I purchased it because Amazon repeatedly assured me through calls and written emails that the ₹24,719.32 difference would be credited. Had I known otherwise, I would have considered other products, sellers or platforms. I'm requesting Amazon India's senior leadership to review the documented interactions and provide a fair resolution — honour the commitment or offer an appropriate alternative, including a return and full refund. I genuinely hope Amazon resolves this directly. If not, I will consider the appropriate consumer grievance and legal remedies available to me. I'm not asking for a favour. I'm asking a company to stand by the written commitment its customer relied on. #AmazonIndia #CustomerExperience #CustomerTrust #Accountability #ConsumerRights
