IndusInd Bank hid credit cards from app for months due to its own data error, then made 20-40 daily recovery calls

I can't see my own credit card balance. But my bank can call me 40 times a day to remind me to pay it. This is my experience with IndusInd Bank over the last several months, and I'm sharing it because I know many people are silently going through the same thing. Here's what happened. The problem One day, my credit cards simply disappeared from the IndusInd Indie app. The card section went blank. No balance, no statement, no transaction history. Nothing. Since then, I've been paying my dues through third-party apps, without knowing my exact statement, charges or fees. Till today, I don't know if I've paid anything extra. The complaint I raised it with the bank. Their team told me the cause was an "Orphan CIF", a duplicate customer ID created in their own system. In simple words: a data error on the bank's side. The "solution" I was told to visit the branch. So I did. Not once, multiple times. At the branch I was told to open a savings account to fix it. I did. Then a current account. I did that too. Then write this application. Sign this form. Sign this one too. The problem is still exactly where it was. In June, the bank emailed me saying they trusted my issue had been "resolved to my satisfaction." It hadn't been resolved at all. The calls While I can't see my cards, the bank's collection system can see me perfectly. My due dates are the 4th and 5th of every month. But from the 12th or 13th of the previous month, I start getting 20 to 40 automated IVR calls a day. From 8 AM till late at night. Even after my number was registered for DND in May. Think about that. A customer who pays, who visits the branch every time he's asked, who opens new accounts on the bank's advice, is treated like a defaulter weeks before his due date. What I'm doing now I've escalated the matter in writing to the bank's Nodal Officer with all my reference numbers. If it isn't fixed, I'll take it to the RBI Ombudsman. What every customer should know 1. Complain in writing, always. Phone calls and branch visits leave no record. Emails do. 2. Save every reference number. They're your proof. 3. If Level 1 support fails, escalate to the bank's Nodal Officer. Every bank has one. 4. If the bank still doesn't resolve it, file a complaint with the RBI Ombudsman at cms.rbi.org.in. It's free, and you don't need a lawyer. 5. Under RBI norms, recovery calls are only allowed between 8 AM and 7 PM. Keep screenshots of your call log. 6. You have the right to ask for your full card statements at any time. Don't stay in the dark about your own money. Banks spend crores on ads telling us they care about customers. Real care is fixing your own system error without making the customer run around for months. IndusInd Bank, I'm still waiting for a fix. Has something like this happened to you with any bank?
