Ather Energy scooter has recurring software bugs and an unresolved AutoHold failure after servicing, plus poor service in Bengaluru

🚨 Ather Energy — Serious Concerns About Software Quality, Vehicle Safety & After-Sales Service! As an SDET with experience in embedded systems, hardware-software validation, and system-level testing, I am concerned about several defects I have personally experienced with my Ather scooter. ⚠️ Issues observed: 🔴 Google Maps/navigation fails to load despite good network coverage, sometimes requiring a reboot. 🔴 Incorrect speed readings displayed even when the vehicle is stationary. 🔴 Dashboard indicator symbols activate, but the corresponding physical indicator lights sometimes fail to illuminate. 🔴 AutoHold stopped functioning after servicing and remains unresolved. Along with these issues, I have faced disappointing customer service experiences at Ather's JP Nagar and Hebbal service centres in Bengaluru, including unclear subscription policies, repeated visits, and poor communication. My question to Ather's Engineering, QA and Release Management teams: How are such defects reaching production? Are these scenarios covered under system integration testing, regression testing, hardware-in-the-loop validation, and production release quality gates? These observations require a proper technical investigation, particularly where rider safety may be affected. My requests to Ather leadership: ✅ Investigate the reported defects and provide a technical explanation. ✅ Strengthen software, hardware and system-level validation. ✅ Establish stricter production release quality gates. ✅ Introduce mandatory service staff training and practical drills. ✅ Publish transparent dealership performance ratings. ✅ Ensure accountability, timely resolutions and written corrective-action reports.
