Passenger says IRCTC booking unavailable for four hours during maintenance, asks for dependable booking service

What is wrong with IRCTC and Indian Railways?! 🇮🇳 It’s 2026, and we still can’t even rely on a basic online ticket-booking system without running into maintenance issues at the worst possible time! I’m trying to book train tickets on the IRCTC website, and what do I get? An error message saying that services will be unavailable from 11:30 PM to 3:30 AM due to maintenance. Seriously? Four hours of downtime on a platform that millions of Indians depend on to plan their journeys! People have urgent travel plans, families need to travel, students have exams, and working professionals have schedules to maintain. Not everyone can afford to wait until the system decides to work again. Train tickets are already difficult enough to secure, especially during peak seasons. And now, passengers have to deal with a booking system that goes offline for hours! Where is the efficiency? Where is the modernization? Where is the accountability? We hear so much about Digital India, technological advancement, and world-class infrastructure. But what is the point of digital transformation if ordinary citizens cannot even book a train ticket when they need one? A truly digital system should make life easier, not leave people helpless because of scheduled maintenance. Indian Railways is one of the largest railway networks in the world. Surely, a country with this scale and technological capability can maintain a reliable online booking platform, schedule maintenance more efficiently, and provide alternative booking arrangements without inconveniencing millions of passengers. This is not just an IRCTC problem; it reflects a serious failure in public service delivery. The Central Government and the Railway Ministry need to take responsibility, demand better performance, and ensure that essential digital services remain dependable. People deserve better than excuses and error messages. We pay for these services through our hard-earned money and taxes. We deserve reliability, accountability, and a system that actually works. Digital India cannot succeed on slogans alone. It must deliver when ordinary citizens need it most. Extremely disappointing. Absolutely unacceptable. Do better, Indian Railways. Do better, IRCTC. And above all, the government needs to wake up and fix these basic problems instead of merely celebrating technological progress! #IRCTC #IndianRailways #DigitalIndia #Accountability #PublicService Railway Board, Ministry of Railways IRCTC OFFICIAL
