Indian Railways train 12880 reported over 5 hours late; concern raised over passenger updates and accountability

Indian RailwaysPC-2026-02067OtherAnonymous ·
🚆 Indian Railways: Where is the accountability for massive train delays? Today, my relatives are travelling on Train No. 12880 – BBS–LTT SF Express, and their experience raises a serious question about passenger accountability and railway service standards. As shown in the attached screenshot from the official Indian Railways train-status website, the train is running approximately 5 hours and 34 minutes late at Kalyan Junction. Think about the impact of such delays: - Passengers lose valuable working hours and personal time. - Families travelling with children and senior citizens face unnecessary hardship. - Connecting transport, appointments, and other commitments are disrupted. - Passengers bear the consequences, but who takes responsibility for the inconvenience? My question is simple: What accountability exists when a train is delayed by more than five hours? Why is there no meaningful passenger compensation mechanism for significant delays when the fault lies with the railway administration? I understand that weather conditions, technical failures, congestion, and operational emergencies can cause delays. However, passengers deserve transparency, timely updates, clear explanations, and a system that recognises the value of their time. In a country aspiring to world-class infrastructure and services, shouldn't punctuality be a key performance indicator? Shouldn't there be accountability for repeated service failures? Passengers should not have to accept prolonged delays as business as usual. Indian Railways serves millions of people every day. Improving accountability, transparency, and passenger compensation would be an important step towards building trust and delivering better service. I urge the concerned authorities to take these concerns seriously and introduce stronger measures to protect passengers' interests. A simple question for Indian Railways: Who is accountable when passengers are left waiting for hours? #IndianRailways #RailwayDelay
