Passenger says Tatkal waitlisted ticket cancelled with ₹0 refund and no explanation from Indian Railways or IRCTC

Extremely Disappointed with Indian Railways: Zero Refund, Zero Accountability, Zero Customer Support! My recent experience with Indian Railways and the RailOne app has been extremely frustrating. I booked a Tatkal ticket for the 20601 MAS BDNK SF Express from Chennai to Madurai at around 6:20 PM. The ticket was issued with TQWL (Tatkal Waiting List) status, which meant there was considerable uncertainty about confirmation. I decided to cancel the ticket rather than risk my travel plans. The result? Refund amount: ₹0.00. But what disappointed me even more than losing my money was the complete lack of customer support. I asked for an explanation, but nobody even bothered to respond to me. My concern was left unaddressed, and I was given no satisfactory explanation for why I was receiving zero refund. Is this what customer service has come to? A passenger spends money, faces uncertainty over a waitlisted ticket, loses the entire amount after cancellation, and then cannot even get someone to explain the reason. Honestly, this experience makes me feel cheated and completely ignored as a customer. My questions to Indian Railways and IRCTC are simple: - Why is my refund showing ₹0.00? - Why was nobody willing to address my concern when I asked for an explanation? - Where is the accountability when passengers face problems? - Does customer support mean anything if passengers cannot get a clear response? I understand that railway tickets are subject to cancellation rules. But following a policy should never be an excuse for poor communication, a lack of accountability, or ignoring a customer's legitimate questions. Indian Railways serves millions of passengers. We deserve transparency, clear explanations, and basic respect—not silence when we raise a concern. Losing money is frustrating. Being ignored when asking why is even worse. I am sharing this experience publicly because passengers deserve to be heard, and genuine customer grievances deserve proper responses. I request Indian Railways and IRCTC to investigate this cancellation, explain the ₹0 refund, and address the lack of customer support. #IndianRailways #IRCTC #RailOneApp #CustomerService #PassengerRights #TatkalBooking #Accountability #CustomerExperience
