Cancelled SpiceJet flight rebooked with repeated delays and no effective support

SpiceJet, is this how you treat your passengers? I’ve heard enough complaints about SpiceJet to be cautious. Unfortunately, today, I got to experience it firsthand. And honestly, the experience has been nothing short of frustrating. I booked my Bengaluru–Delhi flight in the first week of October for travel on 22 October. I booked well in advance, specifically choosing a morning flight that would get me to Delhi by 9 AM, allowing me to plan my day accordingly. Then things started going downhill. Around a week after booking, I was informed that my original flight had been cancelled. I had to choose an alternative, so I booked the 12:20 PM flight. I thought that was the end of it. I was wrong. I received a notification that my flight had been delayed to 3:15 PM. Before I could even process that, another update pushed it to 4:50 PM. And just when I thought I could finally head to the airport and get this over with, I received yet another notification: the light had now been pushed to 6:15 PM. From an early morning arrival in Delhi to reaching around 9:15 PM, my entire day has been turned upside down. And as if this wasn’t enough, my return flight from Delhi is already showing a delay of around 45 mins. I don’t even know what to expect anymore. Will this be another round of last-minute notifications, revised timings, and helplessly waiting for updates? At this point, I genuinely have no confidence in how the return journey is going to go. What makes this worse is the complete lack of accountability. I tried calling customer care, but couldn’t get through. I approached the SpiceJet desk at the airport, explained my situation, and asked what could be done. The response? I would have to send an email. No immediate solution. No meaningful assistance. No clarity on what was actually happening. I even asked whether I could upgrade my seat, hoping there might be some alternative. I was told the flight was full. So I have a genuine question: If the flight is full, why does the departure keep getting pushed further back? I understand that operational issues can arise, but passengers deserve a clear explanation instead of one delay notification after another. People don’t book flights just for the sake of travelling. We have work, meetings, personal commitments, and carefully planned schedules. When an airline cancels a flight and then repeatedly delays its replacement, the least it can do is communicate transparently and provide meaningful assistance. Telling a stranded passenger to send an email isn’t customer service. It’s passing the responsibility back to the very person who is already bearing the consequences. I understand that delays can happen. What I don’t understand is the lack of clarity, the absence of an effective support system, and the expectation that passengers should simply accept the disruption without answers. SpiceJet, passengers deserve better than this. #SpiceJet #CustomerExperience #AirTravel #CustomerService #PassengerRights
