Uber Guwahati airport trip: driver demanded ₹180 extra then ₹50 cash over app fare, threatened drop-off

On 26 October 2026 I booked an Uber to Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati. As soon as I boarded, the driver demanded to know the destination and, once he learned it was the airport, demanded an extra ₹180 as an airport entry fee. I explained repeatedly that airport charges are calculated automatically and included in the upfront fare paid through the app. The driver refused to listen, threatened to drop me off outside the airport gates, and after a long argument said it would be fine if I paid ₹50 extra. I am asking Uber to investigate this incident, take corrective action against the driver, and make sure drivers do not demand cash over the app-calculated fare.
