IDFC FIRST Bank - Arbitrary Credit Limit Reduction and Sudden Card Closure After Timely Payment

Very Disappointing Experience with IDFC FIRST Bank Credit CardnI had an IDFC FIRST Bank credit card with a credit limit of ₹1.45 lakh. Without any proper explanation or prior discussion, I received an email stating that my credit limit had been reduced to ₹90,000, and the change was made within about an hour. Recently, I purchased a mobile phone worth ₹94,000 from Reliance Digital using my credit card. I paid the bill/payment as required. Surprisingly, immediately after the payment, I received an email stating that my card was being considered for unusual usage and that the card would be closed. Within about an hour, my credit card was actually closed. What is most disappointing is that there was no satisfactory explanation or proper resolution from customer care. I contacted customer service, but I did not receive any meaningful response or support. At the same time, I regularly received calls asking me to convert my purchases into EMI and offering different EMI options. I clearly told them that I would pay my bill myself and did not want an EMI. Despite this, I found the overall experience extremely frustrating, especially with the additional charges associated with EMI options. If a customer is using the card within the available limit and paying the outstanding amount properly, the bank should provide a clear reason and transparent communication before taking such a serious action as closing the card. Based on my personal experience, I am extremely disappointed with the service and customer support of IDFC FIRST Bank credit cards. I would advise people to carefully consider the bank's customer service, charges and policies before taking their credit card. Very poor service experience. I expected much better from IDFC FIRST Bank
