10 years of loyalty to OnePlus ending in disappointment, OnePlus 10 Pro green-line display replaced then motherboard failed in a month, forced to pay Rs 19000 for older OnePlus 12R replacement

10 years of loyalty to OnePlus, ending in disappointment. 💔nFor nearly a decade, OnePlus was my go-to smartphone brand. I trusted its products, believed in its philosophy, and stayed loyal through the years. I never imagined that my journey with the brand would end this way.nMy OnePlus 10 Pro developed the infamous green-line issue, and I got the display replaced at an authorised service centre. Within approximately a month, the motherboard failed. With the original parts reportedly unavailable, I was offered a replacement OnePlus 12R, but only if I paid an additional ₹19,000.nWhat made this experience even more disappointing was the replacement itself. At that point, the OnePlus 15R was already the current-generation R-series offering, yet I was being asked to pay ₹19,000 for a OnePlus 12R—a significantly older and lower-tier device compared with the lineup available at the time.nAfter nearly 10 years of being a loyal customer, this was the resolution I was offered. I eventually paid the amount, but the experience left me deeply disheartened.nI understand that electronic devices can fail. No brand can guarantee that every product will be flawless. But customer loyalty should count for something when things go wrong.nWhat matters is not just how a company sells its products, but how it stands by its customers when they face genuine problems. An authorised repair followed by another major hardware failure should not leave a long-time customer feeling that they have to pay their way out of the situation.nAfter a decade of using OnePlus smartphones, I have decided to move on from OnePlus.nThis isn't an easy decision, but trust takes years to build and only one bad experience to damage.
