DTDC Express complaint over delayed consignment D1022378275 after alleged air-delivery promise and premium charges

DTDC ExpressPC-2026-02041OtherAnonymous ·
Dear DTDC Senior Management Team,I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and dissatisfaction with the pathetic service provided by DTDC regarding my consignment D1022378275, booked from Jeypore, Damanjodi, on 05 October 2026 for delivery to Mumbai. At the time of booking, we were assured that the parcel would be transported by air and delivered within three days, considering the urgency of the shipment. Based on this commitment, we were charged a premium rate of ₹300 per kg, amounting to a total of ₹5,100.However, today, 09 October 2026, we have been informed that the parcel will only reach us on 12 October 2026, as it is reportedly being transported by road over a distance of approximately 1,000 km. This is completely unacceptable and directly contradicts the commitment made at the time of booking. This delay is not merely an inconvenience. The shipment is extremely urgent, and the failure to deliver it within the committed timeline may result in business losses running into lakhs of rupees. We paid a premium amount specifically to ensure timely air transportation, not to have the shipment delayed through road transport without our prior knowledge or consent.A reputed brand like DTDC is expected to maintain transparency, accountability, and professional service standards. If timely delivery cannot be guaranteed, customers should be informed honestly at the time of booking rather than charged a premium based on commitments that are subsequently not honoured. Even smaller courier companies demonstrate greater transparency by clearly communicating what they can and cannot deliver.I am therefore requesting the immediate intervention of the DTDC Directors, senior management, and concerned operations team to resolve this matter without any further delay. My demands are as follows:Immediate delivery of consignment D1022378275 today, 09 October 2026, without any further excuses or delays. An urgent explanation for why an air-delivery commitment was made when the ship
