Electric scooter stopped charging within six months and unrepaired for 26 days after roadside service

Hero Vida EV - A NEW ELECTRIC SCOOTER. A BREAKDOWN WITHIN SIX MONTHS. 26 DAYS WITHOUT A RESOLUTION. IS THIS THE OWNERSHIP EXPERIENCE CUSTOMERS DESERVE? My sister purchased a new VIDA VX2 Plus electric scooter on 29 April 2026, trusting the reputation of Hero MotoCorp. On 4 October 2026, the scooter suddenly stopped charging and would not start. It was handed over through roadside assistance to Sehgal Service Centre, Faridabad. Since then, we have made repeated calls to customer care, followed up with the service centre and visited in person. Yet, as of 29 October, the vehicle remains unrepaired, with the required part still not resulting in a completed repair. Twenty-six days without a working vehicle. A new purchase that has become an ongoing struggle. Let us be clear: the problem is not simply that a component may have failed. Product failures can happen. The real concern is the inability to provide a timely, transparent and accountable resolution after the customer has already purchased the product. What is the difference between buying from a major, established manufacturer and choosing a local EV player if the customer is left stranded for weeks, chasing updates and waiting indefinitely for a repair? Hero MotoCorp's reputation should mean more than brand recognition. It should mean product reliability, dependable service, clear communication and ownership when things go wrong. As customers, we should not have to spend weeks chasing a manufacturer for a solution to a vehicle purchased just months earlier. Our demands are straightforward: 1. Take the vehicle back and provide an appropriate buyback/refund of the amount paid. 2. Provide fair compensation for the prolonged loss of use, inconvenience and demonstrable expenses. 3. Explain in writing what failed, why the repair has been delayed and what action is being taken. 4. Have senior management intervene and provide a time-bound resolution. We are requesting a written response within 48 hours and a substantive resolution within seven calendar days. I am publicly raising this issue because customer trust is earned not when a vehicle is sold, but when the company stands behind it after the sale. I request the senior leadership of VIDA and Hero MotoCorp to intervene directly. If this remains unresolved, we will pursue the appropriate consumer grievance and legal remedies. Please don't respond with another generic assurance. Take responsibility and resolve the matter. #VIDA #HeroMotoCorp #ElectricVehicles #CustomerExperience #ConsumerRights #AfterSalesService #EVIndia #ConsumerProtection #BoycottHero
