I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience purchasing Fresho Brand Chicken (brand owned by Bigbasket) from bigbasket a Tata Group-associated brand vide Order no- BNN-******-20261009 .
The chicken I purchased was completely unacceptable. When I put a piece in my mouth, I immediately noticed a strong, stale-meat smell, which raised serious concerns about its freshness and quality. Unfortunately, my mother had already thrown away the packet in the dustbin, so I no longer have the packaging as evidence.
What makes this experience even more concerning is that the product was being sold at a 70% discount. As a customer, I trusted bigbasket to maintain proper quality and food safety standards, regardless of the discount offered.
Honestly, I regret choosing this product just because it was available at such a steep discount. I should have purchased chicken from another brand or another e-commerce platform rather than compromising on something as important as food quality and safety.
My questions to bigbasket and #Fresho are:
- Was the chicken's freshness and quality ensured before it was delivered?
- Why should customers have to worry about the safety of food purchased from a reputed platform?
- Was the product properly checked for quality before being offered at a 70% discount?
A discount should never come at the cost of customer confidence or food safety. Customers trust established brands to deliver safe, fresh and quality products. bigbasket — I expect a proper explanation, an investigation into this incident, and an appropriate resolution. Please take this complaint seriously so that other customers do not face a similar experience.
I also urge Food Safety And Standards Authority Of India (Fssai) to conduct a thorough checking of the cold storage facilities at their Hub located at Pahala-Bhubaneswar Odisha.
