Dear Go4Explore Team, I am writing to raise a formal complaint regarding our Yulla Kanda trek, which turned into a poorly managed and unsafe experience for our group. Travel Date: 1 October 2026 (evening bus) Trek Coordinator: Bhavesh Booking Name: Piyush Saxena Please review the following issues and provide a proper resolution: 1. Major Transportation Delays The bus reporting time was 8:00 AM, but it arrived around 9:30 AM and departed at approximately 10:00 AM. We reached Capri Village around 5:00 PM the following day, making the journey excessively long. Other groups reportedly reached much earlier. 2. Poor Dinner Arrangements The dinner provided was excessively salty and practically inedible. Several members had to purchase food separately despite meals being part of the package. 3. Breakfast Mismanagement Breakfast was included, but there was confusion about its availability before the trek. The guide was unsure whether arrangements had been made at Yang. Despite repeated calls, he remained asleep until approximately 4:10 AM, creating unnecessary stress. 4. Poor Trek Management and Delays The guide stopped repeatedly, sometimes every five minutes, causing significant delays. We reached the camp around 10:00 AM, had lunch, and started towards the temple around noon. We reached the base camp around 2:00 PM and the temple around 5:00 PM. 5. Unsafe Night Descent and Missing Equipment The descent began around 6:00 PM in darkness, despite the risks involved. The promised wooden trekking sticks were not provided, and visibility was poor. This made the descent particularly dangerous. 6. Wrong Route and Serious Safety Concerns Between approximately 6:00 PM and 9:30 PM, we struggled on what appeared to be the wrong or an extremely difficult route. We had to seek help, and local people eventually pointed us in the correct direction. We returned to camp around 3:00 AM. The group was frightened and even chanted the Hanuman Chalisa for reassurance. Putting around 16 participants through such an experience reflects a serious failure in safety planning and guidance. 7. Itinerary Not Followed Properly The itinerary mentioned a two-night camp stay and a temple visit on Day 3. However, the schedule was changed, resulting in a dangerous night descent. Please explain why the planned itinerary and safety arrangements were not followed. 8. Accommodation and Raincoat Issues Despite booking quad sharing, five members were accommodated across three rooms, including a double-sharing room, leaving one person sleeping separately. The raincoat provided was also inadequate. 9. Inadequate Breakfast The following morning, breakfast consisted of only one paratha, with no tea provided. This was insufficient after such a physically demanding and exhausting experience. 10. Exhausting Return Journey We descended around 3:00 PM and departed at approximately 4:00 PM, reached Shimla around midnight, and arrived in Delhi at approximately 9:00 AM the next morning. The overall travel arrangements were extremely exhausting. 11. Resolution Required This trip involved serious shortcomings in transportation, food, accommodation, itinerary management, equipment, and, most importantly, participant safety. The experience fell far below reasonable expectations from a professional trekking operator. I request a written explanation addressing all the above points, along with an appropriate refund or compensation for the poor services and serious safety lapses. Our group members can provide further details if required. Please respond within 7 calendar days. If the matter is not resolved satisfactorily, we may consider escalating the complaint through the appropriate consumer grievance channels. Regards, Piyush Saxena
